Quinta de Azevedo Reserva
Clear and bright with greenish tints. It has an aroma of prominent notes of well-ripened fruit, particularly of stone fruit, such as peaches and nectarines. On the palate, this wine is creamy with aromatic notes of ripe fruit. A lively acidity invites a long and balanced finish.
70% Loureiro, 30% Alvarinho
Vinification took place at the Quinta de Azevedo winery. On arrival, the grapes were carefully treated and gently destemmed in order to fully preserve their character. The channeling of the must is done using temperature controls and protected from oxidation by the use of inert gases. Soft crushing follows in a pneumatic press with some pre-fermentation maceration. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at temperatures between 60ºF-64ºF. During maceration, around 40% of the lot fermented is in contact with the grape skins.
With its fruity profile and integrated acidity, this full-bodied and creamy wine is very gastronomic and pairs wonderfully with fish dishes, seafood and rich salads. Due to its freshness, it pairs exceptionally well with intense flavors, such as those found in Asian cuisine.
A single-estate wine, Quinta de Azevedo has a seal of guaranteed quality. There’s far more to Vinho Verde than a little frizzante; in fact, Quinta de Azevedo Reserva has no spritz at all, and is also higher in alcohol than most of its Vinho Verde counterparts (12% to 13%, versus 9% to 10%). It pairs well with food, thanks to its lively acidity, and it really is perfect for any occasion. The eagle, a universal symbol of power, strength, authority and victory, was the coat of arms of the Azevedo family, who had owned the house for ten centuries and for more than 30 generations. It is represented in various places both inside and outside the manor and the tower. For this reason, the image of the eagle was placed on the cap of the bottle.
