- Daily Mail, on Portuguese wines.
Sogrape was established in 1942 and today is the largest Iberian (Portuguese) wine producer. Over the years Sogrape has diversified its portfolio with wines from all major Portuguese regions, as well as Argentina, Chile, New Zealand and Spain. In both 2015 and 2016 the company was distinguished as the best winery in the world by the World Association of Writers and Journalists of Wines and Spirits (WAWWJ).
Acquired by Sogrape in May of 2000, Evaton started operations in 2001 as the interface of Sogrape and the U.S. market, selling 125,000 cases. Since then Evaton has been transformed in scale and portfolio diversity, branching out from its Portuguese roots and adding brands from Argentina, Chile, New Zealand and Spain, as well as spirits. We have become a national player in the US market and have experienced significant gains in market share across several categories, especially Portuguese table wines. In fact, Evaton has doubled in size since 2012!
In addition to distribution across 48 states, Evaton maintains partnerships with independent national chains such as Trader Joe’s, Total Wine, WholeFoods, and several others.
