The Il Palagio estate lies among the rolling hills of the lush, fertile Tuscan countryside south of Florence, above the picturesque town of Figline Valdarno. This 16th-century estate has been the summer home for Trudie Styler and Sting’s family since 1997, and the setting for many of their intimate parties, private concerts, and anniversaries.
The villa, vineyards, and olive groves have been lovingly restored and Il Palagio is now a vibrant and fully functioning organic farm and vineyard with all wines certified by BioAgricert. The restoration of the vineyards began in 2000 when viticulturist Alan York, famous for his career in organic and biodynamic agriculture, started replacing 27 of 65 acres of vines. Today, the estate has more than 865 acres.
In 2020, renowned winemaker Riccardo Cotarella joined the Il Palagio team as a consultant. An expert in Italian wines with 52+ years of experience in some of the world’s most prestigious wine regions, Cotarella seeks to uncover all the potential of Il Palagio’s vineyards crafting wines that showcase its unique and elegant Terroir.
In addition to their dedication to award-winning wines, Trudie and Sting have a deep commitment to philanthropic efforts with a portion of the proceeds from Il Palagio donated to various charities.
